When you open a movie’s detail page, the top section presents the most essential at-a-glance information:- Backdrop image — a wide cinematic still used as the page hero, sourced from official promotional materials
- Poster — the primary one-sheet artwork displayed alongside the metadata
- Title — the localized title for your region, with the original title shown below when it differs
- Tagline — the official marketing tagline for the film, when available
- Overview — a full synopsis describing the film’s plot without major spoilers
- Release date — the theatrical release date for your region, or the earliest worldwide release date
- Runtime — total running time in hours and minutes
- Genres — clickable genre tags (for example, Thriller, Science Fiction, Drama)
- Spoken languages — the primary languages used in the film’s dialogue
- Production companies — the studios and production houses that made the film, with their logos when available

Ratings
The TMDB score reflects the community’s collective opinion of the film. It is calculated from votes submitted by registered TMDB users and is displayed as a percentage (for example, 85%) alongside the raw vote count.
- Score percentage — the vote average converted to a 0–100 scale, color-coded green (high), yellow (mid), or red (low)
- Vote count — the total number of user ratings that contribute to the score, shown in parentheses
- User score vs critic score — TMDB displays the community score only; for critical consensus, TMDB links out to external review aggregators when a match is found
Cast & Crew

The cast section lists the actors credited in the film, ordered by billing. Each cast entry shows:
- Profile photo — the actor’s TMDB profile image
- Actor name — links to their full people profile page
- Character name — the name of the role they play in the film
- Director — the film’s credited director or co-directors
- Screenplay / Story — the writers credited for the script and source material
- Producer / Executive Producer — the producing credits

The trailers section aggregates official video content for the film, pulled from YouTube and other sources. Videos are categorized by type:
- Trailer — the primary theatrical or teaser trailer
- Teaser — shorter promotional clips released ahead of the main trailer

- Behind the Scenes — extended production footage

Similar movies
At the bottom of every movie detail page you will find two rows of related content:
- Recommendations — titles that TMDB’s algorithm suggests based on genre, themes, cast overlap, and what other users who viewed this film also viewed. Recommendations are personalized when you are signed in.
- Similar movies — titles that share genre tags and general thematic elements with the current film, useful for finding movies in the same style or genre family.
Navigating from a movie detail page
From a movie detail page you can move in several directions:- Browser back button — returns you to the previous search results or browse list, preserving your scroll position
- Genre tags — clicking any genre tag opens the full browse list for that genre
- Cast and crew names — clicking any name opens their people profile page
- Production company logos — clicking a studio name opens a filtered view of all movies from that company
- Recommendation cards — clicking any similar or recommended movie navigates directly to that film’s detail page
